OUR HISTORY

Kayutah Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is an independent engineering and manufacturing company based in Batu Gajah, Perak, Malaysia. The company focuses on industrial biomass drying systems, turnkey process solutions, and custom-engineered machinery. 


The roots of Kayutah Engineering’s technical expertise trace back to the biomass and fibre processing industry that developed under Kayutah, a separate and independently managed company established in 1989 and originally located in Chemor, Perak. Kayutah began operations as a rubberwood manufacturer before later transitioning into palm fibre processing


During the industry’s evolution, extensive hands-on exposure to palm oil Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) processing and dried long fibre production provided deep technical insight into biomass handling, drying challenges, and production-line optimisation. Continuous internal research and development during that period led to the development of proprietary processing techniques, including:

1.) Screw Propeller Drying Technique

2.) EFB Shredding Technique


Building upon this accumulated technical know-how, Kayutah Engineering Sdn. Bhd. was subsequently established as a separate entity to focus on engineering, machinery design, and system-level solutions. Since 2016, Kayutah Engineering has been actively involved in the design, fabrication, and commissioning of complete biomass drying and production systems, including multiple industrial-scale production lines.


In recent years, Kayutah Engineering has further expanded its technical capabilities beyond EFB long fibre to cover a wider range of biomass materials, including palm short fibre, woodchips, sawdust, and other biomass fuels commonly used in boiler and thermal energy applications.


Kayutah Engineering Sdn. Bhd. has recently relocated its operations to Batu Gajah, Perak, supporting expanded fabrication capacity, improved project execution, and long-term growth objectives.


In addition to biomass-related engineering, Kayutah Engineering provides industrial engineering and custom metal fabrication services, including machine design, structural fabrication, and project-based manufacturing support.

 

Kayutah Engineering Sdn. Bhd. operates independently and is not involved in biomass trading, fibre export, or commercial product sales. The company’s core focus remains on engineering, system design, and industrial manufacturing.

Started as manufacturers and exporters of dried palm fibre, we further expand our business by selling our production line (production plant) after years of extensive research and development. It took 5 years to evolve from the very 1st generation to the current 5th generation, which promises higher production capacity, better energy saving, minimal amount of work force to run, among other advantages. Now, Kayutah have added Coconut Long Fibre Production line.

Kayutah Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is ever expanding and we continually offer new services to our customer. One of the services is metal works (with CNC plasma cutting). Through many years of experience in fabricating machine and parts for our own use, we are now extending the service to other people. Our engineering solutions is backed by two lead engineers and a team of specialized workers, together with the help of computer-aided design (CAD) program.

Kayutah is able to provide a one stop solution for the drying of any type of Biomass in the market which includes palm short fibre, mesocarp, woodchips, sawdust, palm kernel shell and etc.  

We are also no stranger to the heat treatment business as Kayutah started as timber processing factory with a lot of kiln drying (KD) facilities. With the timber industry slowing down, we began to shift our focus to providing heat treatment services. Our heat treatment service have received accreditation from Department of Agriculture (DOA) Malaysia and is in compliance with International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM 15).
